Showers linger overnight into Sunday

The low-pressure system that brought a good soaking of rain to the Mid-South is shifting to the east. As the system moves away, we will keep with clouds and a few lingering showers into Sunday.

It has been a wet, cloudy and gray day in the Mid-South. The clouds will hang around the region tonight and into the day tomorrow. Spotty showers and pockets of drizzle are possible overnight along with some patchy fog. Lows tonight will dip into the upper 30s to lower 40s. Winds will stay breezy out of the northwest around 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday we are looking at plenty of clouds with mainly cloudy skies. I cannot rule out some lingering drizzle tomorrow, but most will remain on the dry side. Highs will only warm into the lower 40s tomorrow with breezy northwest winds around 5 to 10 mph. Clouds stick around tomorrow night with lows in the 30s and north winds around 5 mph.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Leftover showers. Winds: Northwest around 5 to 10 mph. Low: 39.

TOMORROW: Mainly Cloudy. Leftover drizzle. Winds: Northwest around 5 to 10 mph. High: 43.

THE WEEK AHEAD: We dry out for Monday, but the clouds will stick around as will the chilly afternoon highs in the lower 40s, lows Monday night will drop into the lower 30s with partly cloudy skies. Tuesday, we start our warming trend, afternoon highs are back into the 50s with partly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the upper 30s. Wednesday we keep with the highs in the middle 50s and partly cloudy skies, lows will drop into the lower to middle 40s. Rain chances return Thursday and build by Friday into Saturday. Highs Thursday will warm into the upper 50s with overnight lows in the 40s and clouds skies all day. Mainly cloudy for Friday with rain in the forecast, highs will warm into the upper 50s with overnight lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Saturday, right now, is looking wet with showers exiting the region behind the next system that brings us rain. Right now, it also looks like a cold rain with highs in the 40s and lows dropping into the 30s. We could see even colder temperatures as we push into Sunday. Keep it with the First Alert Weather Team for the latest.
