MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Shelby County Schools says the rodent infestation and renovation at Kirby High School cost more than $3 million.
About 800 students returned to Kirby this month. Shelby County Schools gave a breakdown of the costs Monday.
- Construction, including paint, ceiling tiles, lighting,etc. = $567,000
- Pest control, potables and greenhouse removal, custodial services = $287,000
- Furniture, lockers auditorium upgrades, security cameras, signage = $1,742,600
- Technology = $278,000
- Moving Kirby students to other campuses = $464,200
