Major storm system to impact the Mid-South

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A potent low pressure system will move through the area overnight and tomorrow bringing rain, a threat for storms, strong winds, and possibly snow.

TONIGHT: Rain & T’storms WIND: NE SE 10-15 LOW: 58

SATURDAY: AM Storms-Showers WIND: NW 20-25 HIGH: 58

SATURAY NIGHT: Snow Showers WIND: N 20-25 LOW: 25

THE WEEKEND: Temperatures warm overnight as rain spreads from west to south across the area. A few strong to severe storms are possible during the early morning hours Saturday followed by showers and falling temperatures through the day. A WIND ADVISORY will go into effect at noon Saturday and remain in place until 3 AM Sunday as wind gust of 30-40 MPH will be possible. Snow showers will develop Saturday evening with little or no accumulation followed by a cold and cloudy night Saturday. Clouds will clear Sunday with afternoon highs only reaching the mid 30s and overnight lows falling into the mid 20s.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be mostly sunny with afternoon highs warming into the mid 40s and overnight lows in the upper 30s. Tuesday will be cloudy with showers likely along with highs in the mid 50s and overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s. Wednesday will be cloudy with a chance of rain early and highs in the lower 40s with overnight lows falling into the upper 20s. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the lower 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Friday will be mostly cloudy with afternoon highs near 40.
