MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Voters in Tipton County and parts of eastern Shelby County are picking their candidate for State Senate District 32.

Thursday is a special primary election to fill the seat vacated by Mark Norris who was nominated to a federal judge position.

Heidi Shafer, George Chism, Steve McManus and Paul Rose are all vying for the Republican nomination, which represents all of Tipton County and parts of eastern Shelby County including Collierville, Arlington and Lakeland.

The winner of that race will face Democrat Eric Coleman in the general election March 12.

Polls close at 7 p.m.
