You were an unplanned stop in my life’s adventure, but you welcomed me on that September afternoon with a hot, sticky, humid day.
From your music on Beale Street to your food I’ve devoured, you leave me craving more.
I’ve seen you during your time of mourning when the community cries out for the senseless loss of life to stop. But I’ve also seen you when you shine with love as strangers, brothers and sisters, come together in your time of need.
Walks along the Mississippi River at Tom Lee Park at sunset are my favorite. Viewing your beauty from 28 stories at the peak of the pyramid I can see your hidden gems, like the miles of trees that wrap you like a blanket.
You've given me lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories.
For an unplanned stop you’ve given me more than I could have ever asked for, and for that I will be forever grateful.
