WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY 6 PM - 3 AM for portions of West Tennessee, East Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.: A brief period of freezing rain expected in Clay, Greene, Dunklin, Pemiscot, Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry and Dyer counties. This includes the cities of Piggott, Corning, Paragould, Kennett, Caruthersville, Tiptonville, Union City, Martin, Dresden, Paris, and Dyersburg. Any ice will result in slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze are possible.
OVERNIGHT: Showers end late with lows in the low 30s. Wind will be northeast at 10-20 mph.
CHILLY WEEKEND AHEAD: Clouds will linger at times both Saturday and Sunday. It will remain cool with highs in the 40s Saturday and low 50s Sunday. Lows will be in the 40s Saturday night. A few showers are possible late Saturday night into Sunday morning. A shower or two can’t be ruled out during the day Sunday as well, mainly in north MS.
NEXT WEEK: Monday looks partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the 40s. The weather pattern gets pretty active with a strong system lingering to our southeast Tuesday. Rain will be likely on Tuesday, especially in northeast MS. 1-2″ is possible with even higher amounts from Corinth to Oxford. Highs will be in the 40s to low 50s Tuesday. Some rain could linger into Wednesday mainly in southwest TN and northeast MS with highs once again in the 40s to low 50s. The same pattern continues through the end of the week.
