MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - In their season-opening series, the Memphis Tigers were topped by Indiana.
A rain delay moved the season opener back to a Saturday double header.
The Hoosiers took game one with a 6-1 victory, limiting the Tigers to just three hits along the way.
Memphis would get a win back with a 6-3 late afternoon tilt at FedExPark.
Freshman Hunter Goodman led the way with a 3-for-4 performance with three doubles and four RBI.
Indiana would shut down the Tigers bats in a 6-0 win Sunday.
"We didn't grab the RBI moments today, and that was the difference," Head Coach Daron Schoenrock said. "I think with our starting pitching and our bullpen, our stuff is going to play. There are weapons in our staff. That game was played in a couple moments we didn't capitalize on, and then any time we made one little mistake, Indiana took advantage of them."
Memphis will head into week two with a 1-2 record. Their next contest will take place at FedExPark at 3 p.m. Wednesday when the Tigers host Murray State.
