MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis man has pleaded guilty to a string of robberies last summer.
Brandon Albonetti, 23, was facing a 10-count indictment for armed robberies and attempted robberies at five CVS stores and a Burger King between June 21, 2018 and Aug. 14, 2018. He’s accused of using a pistol in some of the robberies and a knife in others.
Albonetti was arrested during his final robbery while fleeing CVS on Stage Road. U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant says Albonetti used his vehicle to strike two patrol cars during his attempted escape.
Albonetti pleaded guilty Feb. 15. Sentencing is scheduled for May 23. He’s facing up to 20 years in prison on each of the six robbery charges and a mandatory minimum consecutive sentence of seven years to life in prison on each of his four firearms charges.
