MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A grand jury has indicted a Memphis woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death last year.
Decrese Beverly, 49, is facing an indictment for second-degree murder.
The Shelby County Assistant District Attorney’s Office says Beverly’s boyfriend, Wesley Johnson, was found dead on their couch in October 2018 with two stab wounds to the abdomen. A large silver knife was found near his body.
Beverly became a suspect when investigators determined there was no sign of forced entry. She was later arrested in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Beverly is currently behind bars at the Shelby County Women’s Jail East on a $500,000 bond.
