MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says they are halfway through their psychological reassessments after county officials learned an unlicensed doctor performed pre-employment screenings for hundreds of county workers.
As of Monday, the sheriff’s office says their employees have completed phase one of the reassessment -- a written exam -- and phase two, which includes a face-to-face interview, is underway.
If a deputy fails the reassessment, they could lose their job. The department has until April 18 to complete the testing.
The county is expected to spend more than $130,000 before the reassessments are complete.
