MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A pair of Memphis Tigers racked up American Athletic Conference honors this week.
For the man, Jeremiah Martin made his third straight honor roll. And for the women, center Alana Davis made her fourth honor roll of the season.
Martin led his group to a win over ECU and a tough road loss against UCF this week.
The senior from Mitchell High School scored 56 points in two games against ECU and UCF.
Martin scored 31 in the win and another 25 in a loss, giving him a total of 1,369 points for his career. That’s good enough to pass his head coach Penny Hardaway for 17th place on the Tigers’ career scoring list.
“Jeremiah is locked in," Hardaway said. “We’ve got to get KB going more, and we’ve got to find a way to get Tyler going, They’re game planning him really well to not let him shoot, and we’ve got to get him going other ways.”
The Tigers will host Tulane next on Wednesday night.
Davis averaged 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the women that included a loss to Cincinnati and a win over Tulane.
They’ll face a tough task this week when they face 3rd-ranked UConn on Wednesday night.
