FDA approves skin cancer prevention creams

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - There is a renewed focus on skin cancer prevention.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a two creams to treat pre-cancerous spots called Actinic Keratosis.

Doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital found that a combination of creams used to treat those spots can also prevent them from turning into Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Also known as SCC, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, is the second most common form of skin cancer.
