Uber launches new safety feature in Shelby County

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Ride-share service, Uber, has launched a new safety feature in Shelby County.

Users will now be able to call 911 from the Uber app.

According to Business Insider, location and vehicle details such as the car’s make, model and license plate will be automatically shared with first responders.

Memphis and the Shelby County areas are among the more than 60 areas with the new feature.
