MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - East High School point guard, Antonio Thomas, made his longtime commitment to Bradley University official on Wednesday, signing his national letter of intent with the Braves.
“Bradley was a good fit,” Thomas said at his signing event. “I wanted to do something different knowing that a lot of schools have a lot of good guards. Bradley fit me well, and I will be going there right away, being a great impact for the team and taking the team back to the tournament.”
The 6-foot-2 inch guard, who transferred to East from Ridgeway for his senior season, helped lead the Mustangs to their fourth straight Tennessee Class AAA state championship appearance last March. Thomas now sets his sights on making a splash with a Braves squad coming off its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 12 years.
“I expect things to go good my freshman year,” Thomas said. “I expect to get freshman of the year, I expect to break a lot of records this year. I expect to win the OVC Tournament again, and try to win the NCAA Tournament.”
