MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - With the NBA Draft and Free Agency looming over the Franchise, the Memphis Grizzlies continue to shore up their front office.
The team announced Rich Cho has been hired on as Vice President of Basketball Strategy.
He will work closely with new Griz GM Zack Kleiman, who interned under Cho five years ago with the Charlotte Hornets.
Cho has more than 20 years Font Office experience, including seven as Hornets GM.
A native of Burma, Cho became the first Asian-American general manager in American major league sports when he served as General Manager of the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2010-11 season.
He also spent 10 years as Assistant GM with Seattle and Oklahoma City.
Also joining the Grizzlies is Glen Grunwald as Senior Advisor of Basketball Operations.
Grunwald was a Senior Executive with the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks back in 2013.
He was an original member of the Raptors Front Office and served as Toronto General Manager from 1997 to 2004, during the Vince Carter Playoff Years.
Grunwald comes to Memphis from his post as CEO of Canada Basketball.
