MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -The AutoZone Liberty Bowl has announced a new president of the Festival Association.
AutoZone chief financial officer Bill Giles was named as the head.
Giles, who’s been a long time board member of the Festival Association, says he’s proud to serve as President.
“I’ve been involved with the Liberty Bowl for 10 years now.” says Giles. “It’s a great organization that helps a lot of people and focuses a lot of attention on our city. It also reminds us of those in the armed forces who serve us a help preserve the freedoms we enjoy every day.”
The Liberty Bowl annually pits the SEC against the Big 12 in late December.
A date for this year’s 61st Winter Classic is expected to be set later this Spring.
