NASHVILLE, TN (WMC) - The NFL Draft kicks off Thursday in Nashville, and there is no shortage of activities for fans to do while there.
While crews put the finishing touches on the stages, other areas for children and adults are being set up at Nissan Stadium.
There will be autograph sessions as well as training sessions, and it is all free.
“There is something for everybody,” said one organizer. “That is why we have a live music stage, we have the food. But then of course we weave in pro football everywhere we go.”
Comcast is even providing free Wi-Fi for everyone downtown.
Nearly 2,000 Xfinity hotspots are activated at popular areas like Nissan Stadium, Broadway and Music Row.
There are also several Mid-South athletes who are expected to be drafted.
We’re told Memphis Tigers star running back Darrell Henderson will spend the Draft with family and friends here in the Memphis area.
It’s not that Henderson is averse to travel, he’s already wracked up thousands of frequent flyer miles in working out for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, Arizona Cardinals and L.A. Rams.
Henderson’s agent, Leigh Steinberg, says the Tiger All American is drawing extra attention from the Rams, who still aren’t sure if they’ll have a healthy Todd Gurley next season.
The Rams have the 31st pick in the first round.
Also, the Raiders, who have two first round picks, 24th and 27th, are in need of a feature back with former All Pro Marshawn Lynch announcing his retirement.
