5 Great Things: Wedding at Graceland, surprise scholarship

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - It’s a beautiful sunny day, but Mid-Southerners make great things happen rain or shine. Here are five from this week.

Julia Lighty and Trey Fox, part of the crew working on a second Hallmark movie about a wedding at Graceland, took the opportunity to share their own vows amid the Hollywood glitz.

Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton came to Memphis as part of her nationwide book tour to promote her new children’s book about endangered animals.

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley is a finalist for the NBA Cares Community Assist Award, which goes to the player who most positively impacts his community over the course of the season.

Brieana Driskill, a Methodist Le Bonheur outreach educator, was awarded a $10,000 scholarship to pay for nearly all of her MBA degree at WGU Tennessee.

Finally, our own Joy Redmond represented WMC among dozens of sponsors, city leaders and community members who signed the floor of this year's St. Jude Dream Home in Lakeland.
