Memphis golf team heads to NCAA Tournament

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Memphis Tigers Men’s Golf team is back in the big dance for the first time since 2016, in the Athens Regional in Georgia.

The Tigers are the 11th seed in the region, with Vanderbilt as number one. Brad Bawden and Chase Harris, lead the team, earning all-conference honors in the American. Tigers Head Coach Blake Smart is the AAC’s Coach of the Year.

“Feel pretty good.” Smart said."It’s actually an hour from where I grew up. I’ve been there dozens of times. I love it. I’ll be very comfortable. Course knowledge is about as good as I could ask for, so I’m pretty excited."

Ole Miss is heading to the Stanford Regional in Palo Alto, California. Miss. State is going to Louisville, and Arkansas will play in the Austin, Texas, Regional.

All Regional action is May 13-15. The Top 5 teams from each Region advance to the NCAA Finals in Fayetteville. Arkansas.
