JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - On Friday, a Region 8 school had a magical surprise to share with 10-year-old Jackson Brown.
Jackson told Make-A-Wish he wanted to go to Disney World to meet his favorite characters- Mickey and Lightning McQueen.
International Studies Magnet School raised over $9,000 by collecting change to grant his wish, something Jackson and his family say meant so much.
“Before, I’ve worked the road blocks when they have the radiothon and stuff and it’s always been fun and important, but now, it’s even more important and more special to our family,” said Jackson’s mom Debbie Brown.
The A-State basketball team was at the school to shoot free-throws with Jackson after he thought he’d won a coloring competition before the real surprise.
Former wish kid Owen Church was there to help reveal Jackson’s Disney World wish.
“I’m just very thankful to see this happen and it just reminds me of all the good times that happened when I got my wish granted,” said Church.
Since Owen got his wish seven years ago, he’s helped grant several wishes for kids like Jackson.
Jackson and his family will be enjoying their magical trip this summer.
