5 arrested in connection to Southaven shooting; another suspect still on run

SOUTHAVEN, MS (WMC) - Police arrested five men and are searching for another after a shooting in Southaven last month.

The shooting happened April 24 at about 8 p.m. on Elmbrook Drive. One was was shot and rushed to the hospital.

Police said the man was shot after two parties fired shots at each other--one from a car, and one from a porch.

Five men are in custody for the shooting at this time: Tony Hughes, 21; Wendel McCray, 20; Kendarrious Reed, 19; Daniel Stitts, 18; and Thomas Chandler, 18.

Hughes and McCray are charged with attempted murder. Reed, Stitts and Chandler are charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.

In addition, police are searching for 19-year-old Keith Kent. Police believe he's been living in and out of hotels in DeSoto and Shelby County.
