RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A deputy with the Rankin County Sheriff’s drug task force made a big bust on on Interstate 20.
On Tuesday, May 7 the deputy pulled over a Nissan on I-20 for a traffic violation.
During the traffic stop the deputy suspected the vehicle was transporting drugs and/or contraband. A search revealed over five pounds of cocaine, 90 pounds of marijuana and THC candy hidden inside the vehicle.
A field test of the cocaine shows the presence of Fentanyl along with the cocaine. All of the drugs confiscated will be sent to the MS State Crime Lab for testing.
The driver Denarrio Singleton was placed under arrest for aggravated trafficking and transported to the Rankin County Jail.
District Attorney Bubba Bramlett will bring Singleton before Rankin County Court Judge Kent McDaniel for an initial appearance. No bond has been set at this time.
