MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - County leaders made a special delivery to a group of Shelby County teachers.
Mayor Lee Harris delivered to Belle Forest Community School as part of National Teacher Appreciation Week.
Harris says it is important to honor those teachers who have lasting impacts on our students lives.
"It's a mission, it's a calling. Its a real decision to take your talent, and your God-given skills and try to change the lives of young people," said Harris.
Mayor Harris says the teachers at Belle Forest decided they wanted to have lasagna delivered to them.
Belle Forest was chosen for free lunch because of its innovative approach to learning.
