Southaven Police Chief to retire in June

Southaven Police Chief retiring next month

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (WMC) - In a private meeting Friday evening, Southaven Police Chief Steve Pirtle announced he will be retiring from the force.

Pirtle said his retirement will be effective June 15.

Sources say Deputy Chief Matt Anderson will take over as interim Chief.

Chief Pirtle has been in law enforcement for over 36 years.

He started with Horn Lake Police, then moved to Southaven Police.
