ATHENS, GA (WMC) - It’s NCAA Tournament time in men’s golf for a host of Mid-South Schools, including the University of Memphis.
The Tigers, competing in the Athens, Georgia, regional as the 11th seed are currently in 5th place with an opening round at 8 over par total--3 strokes behind 4th place Tennessee in the 13-team field.
Tiger Golfer Bradley Bawden is the individual leader with a 3-under par 68.
Arkansas is in 4th place at the Austin, Texas, regional. The Hogs are at 2-under, 4 shots off the pace set by Pepperdine and Texas.
At the Kentucky Regional, Auburn is way out in front at -8 Miss. State is 9th at +10. Arkansas State is 10th at 11 over.
Ole Miss is competing in the Stanford Regional. The Rebels are tied for 5th with AAC Member UCF at 2 over par, 8 strokes behind the hometown school.
Regional action runs through Wednesday. The NCAA Finals begin May 24 at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
