COLLIERVILLE, TN (WMC) - Collierville Municipal School District is trying to fill two big administrative positions before the school year wraps up in less than two weeks.
Collierville Superintendent John Aitken is retiring this year and the new Collierville High School needs a new school principal.
The current superintendent said his successor will need to plan for growth while maintaining the momentum...but ultimately the success of any school administrator will always come back to the classroom.
“A good teacher in front of that classroom teaching those kids, so make sure that you maintain that solid teaching force, provide opportunities for kids, and do the right thing by kids and their parents. If you do that all the other stuff falls into place,” Aitken said.
Collierville is interviewing candidates for both positions right now. The district hopes to name a high school principal before the end of the school year.
