Warm start to the week

This afternoon will be partly cloudy and warm with highs in the mid 80s. A pop-up shower will be possible this afternoon, mainly in eastern Arkansas. Most of the area will remain dry. Winds will be east at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Winds: SE 5-10 mph. Low: 69.

TUESDAY: Expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid to upper 80s. A line of storms will approach the Mid-South late Tuesday night. The best chance for strong storms will be in eastern Arkansas and then the line will fall apart as it crosses the Mississippi River. Lows will be in the low 70s.

WEDNESDAY: Scattered showers are possible early in the day. Otherwise, mostly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Lows will be in the low 70s.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY: It will be partly cloudy Thursday and Friday and see more sunshine and dry conditions. Highs will be near 90 at the end of the week. We will likely hit 90 degrees for the first time of 2019 by Friday.

WEEKEND: It will remain hot and humid over the weekend with high temperatures in the lower 90s and a heat index in the mid 90s. It will remain dry and sunny over the weekend.
