MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police Department is investigating after two men were found dead inside a home.
The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon on Egypt Central.
Family says Demarco Foote, a devoted father, was one of the victims.
“It’s really shocking being right down the street from us. I’ve known him since he was 7 or 8 years old. He went to school with my oldest son who is 34," Brenda Piggie said.
Foote was a man everyone seemed to love.
“You see how many people were over here,” Piggie said.
A huge crowd of people gathered on the street - many of them crying and hugging each other.
“He’s just a good person. He’s going to laugh every time. You see him going to make you laugh," Ameila Yates.
Yates says she considered Foote to be like her baby brother.
Friends say his 18-year-old nephew was the second victim and he had just graduated from high school. They say he was a great guy as well.
“It’s a real tragedy and I hate for that to happen for somebody to get killed like that. You know what I’m saying,” Annie Walker said
It is unclear what led to the shooting. Neighbors say they have no idea why anyone would want to kill Foote and his nephew.
“We live in a tragic world baby. I swear to God," Walker said.
No suspect information is available at this time.
