MPD officer resigns after deadly 2018 shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police confirm one of the officers involved in a deadly shooting last year has resigned.

David Reinke tendered his resignation last month.

Reinke and Officer Brandon Barnes were involved in the 2018 shooting of D’Mario Perkins.

Friends, family hold vigil for man shot, killed during traffic stop

Police say Perkins made threats of suicide and fired his gun at officers before they fired back.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is still investigating.
