$10,000 worth of tools stolen from A-State campus hotel construction site

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -Several men showed up for work Monday morning only to discover the tools they needed had been stolen.

Just before 8 a.m., Officer Ryan Smith of the University Police Department responded to a commercial burglary report at the Embassy Suites, 223 N. Red Wolf.

According to the report, two workers reported the latch to their toolbox had been cut and $10,000 worth of tools, including a screw gun, 3 impact drills, 2 hammers, a grinder and lasers had been taken.

Both victims told Smith a 55-year-old man had been fired from the job site just a week or two ago for stealing. The suspect’s identity was not revealed in the report.

Smith said officers would increase their patrols around the construction site.
