OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) - What a weekend for former Ole Miss Star Pole Vaulter Sam Kendricks. The Oxford, Mississippi, native set the American record with a vault of 19 feet, 10 and half inches at the USA Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Kendricks is the defending world champion. The 26-year-old was already assured of of going to the IAAF World Athletics Championships next month at Doha, Qatar, in the Middle East.
