THP to enforce hands-free law starting Sept. 1

THP to begin issuing tickets for hands-free driving law on Sept. 1

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol will begin enforcing the new hands-free driving law soon.

The law went into effect on July 1, but up until this point THP has only been educating drivers that they pull over.

But beginning Labor Day Weekend, THP will treat the new law as any other law and write tickets.
