Memphis woman accuses NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown of rape

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis woman has filed a lawsuit against New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown, accusing him of rape.

Britney Taylor, who filed the lawsuit Tuesday, was working as Brown’s trainer at the time of the alleged rape.

She reported that Brown sexually assaulted her on three occasions, according to the lawsuit filed in Florida.

Taylor’s lawyer released this statement:

“As a rape victim of Antonio Brown, deciding to speak out has been an incredibly difficult decision...I have found strength in my faith, my family, and from the accounts of other survivors of sexual assault. Speaking out removes the shame that I have felt for the past year and places it on the person responsible for my rape.”

Taylor says she is willing to cooperate with the NFL and any other agencies.

The Patriots released a statement saying they are aware of the lawsuit and taking the allegations seriously. They say the league is investigating.

Brown’s attorney said he plans to countersue. He issued this statement on Twitter:
