MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Shelby Farms will soon reopen the lakes after they were closed in August for algae testing.
Shelby Farms says with temperatures finally dropping, they will now be able to reopen the lakes for pets.
They hope to begin removing “closed” signs early next week.
Officials began testing the water after reports of blue-green algae nationwide.
Algae was found in the lake, but the levels were not toxic.
