MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Officers with the Memphis Police Department are looking for a gunman after a 10-year-old was shot.
A Memphis mother told police her son had been shot in the leg. The mother told investigators that she and several others, including her son, were at a party at Blue Ice for a teen party.
Blue Ice is located in the 2800 block of Coleman Rd.
They arrived at the party around 8:30 Sunday night. She said she was unsure what time they left the party.
As they were driving to leave the parking lot, she heard two or three gunshots.
The mother told MPD she couldn’t see where the shots were coming from but noticed a group of juveniles arguing outside the party before the shots were fired.
After the shots rang out, the 10-year-old yelled out he had been shot.
She told police she ‘freaked out’ and drove to Methodist North. He was eventually airlifted to Le Bonheur in critical condition and has been upgraded to non-critical condition.
No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
