MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police are investing a shooting that left one person injured at the Exxon at Poplar Avenue and South Highland Street Saturday night.
Three victims told police that they were sitting in their black Buick Verano, attempting to turn out of the gas station when they heard gunshots from behind them in the parking lot.
They attempted to duck down but one victim sitting in the back driver’s side was grazed by a bullet on her left shoulder. The other two victims were unharmed.
A fourth victim told police she was driving down Poplar when the hood of her Chevrolet Tahoe was hit by a bullet.
The manager of the Exxon provided officers with video surveillance.
According to police, a dark-colored sedan was parked at a gas pump when a silver Honda sedan pulled up directly behind it. A man wearing a green jacket got out of the front passenger side of the dark sedan and into the the rear passenger of the Honda.
Police say after a few seconds, the man got out of the vehicle and appeared to be involved in a dispute with the occupants of the Honda.
According to a police report, a heavy-set man in an orange jacket got out of the driver side of the Honda and approached the rear of the vehicle.
The man wearing a green jacket slammed the front passenger door of the Honda then got into the front passenger seat of the dark-colored sedan. As the sedan pulled off, a man wearing a black and white jacket with black and white pants got out of the front passenger seat of the Honda and fired several shots at the sedan and struck the Buick Verano.
Both the sedan and silver Honda then fled the scene eastbound on Poplar Avenue.
