623-case jump brings Tennessee’s confirmed COVID-19 cases above 18,000; deaths now top 300

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Tennessee state health officials reported an increase of 623 confirmed coronavirus cases Monday and three more deaths.

The state now has 18,011 confirmed cases and 301 deaths.

So far, 9,886 people have recovered from the virus, which is about 55 percent of the state’s cases, and 1,489 have been hospitalized, about 8 percent of the state’s cases.

More than 337,428 tests have been administered.

On Monday, the health department confirmed 3,761 coronavirus cases and 85 deaths across Shelby County -- an increase of 42 cases and one death since Sunday. SCHD reports more than 65 percent of residents have recovered from the deadly virus and more than 52,227 have been tested.

Arkansas -- 4,759 total cases and 98 deaths

  • Crittenden -- 234 cases; 7 deaths; 195 recoveries
  • Cross -- 35 cases; 25 recoveries
  • Lee -- 11 cases; 1 death; 3 recoveries
  • Mississippi -- 61 cases; 29 recoveries
  • Phillips -- 5 cases; 1 death; 3 recoveries
  • Poinsett -- 26 cases; 2 deaths; 22 recoveries
  • St. Francis -- 341 cases; 214 recoveries

Mississippi -- 11,432 total cases and 528 deaths (state not releasing recovery data at this time)
