SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) - Health officials are reporting 100 new coronavirus cases in Shelby County.

The Shelby County Health Department announced 9,310 confirmed cases and 181 deaths as of Sunday morning.

So far, 6,318 people in Shelby County have recovered.

State, county and city officials have been pushing for more COVID-19 testing in the Mid-South. More than 121,000 tests have been administered countywide.

That push for testing has also significantly impacted assisted care facilities serving a vulnerable population.

The health department is investigating multiple COVID-19 outbreaks/clusters at several assisted care facilities in Memphis and Shelby County.
