New court date set for Sen. Katrina Robinson

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Tennessee Senator Katrina Robinson will have another court date on Aug. 18.

Tuesday, Robinson appeared before a judge using Skype and pleaded not guilty to federal charges including embezzlement and theft.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Robinson stole money that was supposed to help health care students and used it for personal reasons.

Robinson faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine if she’s convicted.
