JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A Mississippi attorney has become the president-elect of the National Bar Association.

Attorney Carlos Moore of The Cochran Firm will serve as President-Elect for 2020 and then be sworn in as President at the 96th annual National Bar Association convention next July in Memphis.

This marks the first time an attorney with the Mississippi Bar Association won the presidency for the NBA.

Moore has been a trial lawyer for nearly 20 years.
