MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police are investigating an interstate shooting that sent a man to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Memphis police say the shooting happened in the westbound lanes of I-240 at the Lamar Avenue exit around 11 a.m.

A man called police saying he was shot while driving on the interstate. The victim went to the hospital in non-critical condition.

Investigators say the suspect was last seen driving a silver Nissan Maxima heading westbound on I-240.

Police shut down the westbound lanes of the interstate while they looked for evidence.

This incident brings Memphis to 61 interstate shooting for 2020 with six of those investigations solved, according to the Memphis Police Department.
