One person killed in shooting near North Memphis church, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A shooting victim was transported to Regional One in critical condition after being shot near a North Memphis church Sunday afternoon, MPD reports.

Officers arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Eldridge Avenue, which is near Princeton Chapel AME Zion Church.

No arrests have been made at this time.

MPD later tweeted that the victim did not survive his injuries, turning this incident into a homicide.
