Help Wanted: Arkansas needs new Head Football Coach

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - It hasn’t happened in a while, but it’s time for Arkansas State to look for a New Head Football Coach. Blake Anderson is leaving the Red Wolves and the Sun Belt Conference to become Head Coach at Utah State of the Mountain West.

Anderson guided A-State for seven years, winning 51 games, third-most in program history. COVID-19 is his first losing season, at 4-7. Before that, he led the Red Wolves to six straight Bowl Games, and back to back Sun Belt Championships in 2014 and 2015.

A-State has been a stepping stone for coaches looking for bigger programs, changing Head Coaches every year from 2010 to 2014. Among the names Steve Roberts, Hugh Freeze, Guz Malzahn and, Brian Harsin.

Anderson is now in the Same League as Harsin, who coaches at Boise State.
