MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Not even COVID-19 is keeping water-skiers, bare-footers and wake-boarders from coming out to raise funds for the Dream Factory of Memphis.
For a $30 donation, skiers were pulled behind boats in the ice-cold water of Wolf River Friday to benefit the Dream Factory.
The organization is dedicated to granting the dreams of critically and chronically ill children ages three through eighteen.
The president of The Dream Factory Memphis chapter is glad the annual tradition continued even with the COVID-19 restrictions.
“It’s a little different today because we don’t have the big crowds that we usually do,” said Dream Factory of Memphis President Brian Juengling. “The pandemic has kind of shut that down but we were fortunate enough through all the help of Shelby count health dept to allow us to put this on with all of the social distancing and everything else. So we are just so pleased to be able to do this in a smaller way than we usually do.”
The Memphis Chapter of the Dream Factory was founded in 1985.
