MPD: 14-year-old charged with reckless homicide after 10-year-old killed in North Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Investigators with the Memphis Police Department have released new information after a child was killed in North Memphis.

Police said a 14-year-old has been charged with reckless homicide. The teenager will not be identified by MPD because the suspect is a juvenile.

Officers were called to Howell Avenue near Springdale Street in Hyde Park around 11:00 Monday night.

Police found a 10-year-old boy shot on the scene. He was taken to Le Bonheur in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.
