MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Police have arrested the man they say opened fire on a driver outside a convenience store last week and stole $30 from the victim.
Clifton Cox, 45, is charged with attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery after the Dec. 29 shooting at Dees Oil at Horn Lake Road and Hewlett Road.
The victim told officers he was parked in his Lexus when Cox walked up, opened the driver door and shot him several times.
Cox took $30 from the victim and continued to shoot the man as he got out of the car and fell to the ground, according to an arrest affidavit.
Doctors noted the victim was shot 11 times and located a total of 17 bullet holes that were entrance and exit wounds.
The victim identified Cox in a photo lineup and surveillance video from the gas station also captured the shooting, according to the police affidavit.
Bond has not yet been set for Cox, according to court records.
