Memphis family looking for answers after bullet flies through their home

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis family is terrified and looking for answers after a bullet shot through their home while they were in bed watching a movie Saturday night.

The homeowner told us he, his wife and their 11-year-old daughter were all in bed when the bullet came through the bedroom wall hitting a wooden dresser and shattering a mirror just inches from the bedpost.

According to Memphis police, the victims said they heard four gunshots at the time of the incident. The homeowner believes they were fired in the area of Springdale Street and Eldridge Avenue.

No one on the scene was injured. Shell casings were not found but a bullet fragment was found in one of the victim’s belongings.

This is an ongoing investigation.
