Grizzlies announce MLK Day Sports Legacy Award recipients

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - On Monday, the Grizzlies announced their honorees for their Annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration. The three selected to receive the National Civil Rights Museum Sports Sports Legacy Award are former NBA great sharpshooter Ray Allen, a 10-Time All-Star and two time NBA Champion, plus Sportsmanship Award Winner.   

Also being honored are two-time NBA Champion Kenny Smith, who’s now a commentator on TNT’s popular Inside the NBA program, and former WNBA Rookie of the Year, MVP, and 2016 League Champion Nneka Ogwumike.  

They’ll speak at the Earl Lloyd Sports Legacy Symposium before the 19th annual MLK Day game between the Grizzlies and the Phoenix Suns on January 18 at FedExForum.
