MILLINGTON, Tenn. (WMC) - An arrest has been made after a man was shot in Millington. Deputies responded to a shooting call in north Shelby County on Marvin Road on January 10.
The victim told police he was driving on Marvin Road when an unknown man started firing shots at him. One bullet struck the victim in the left arm. When deputies checked the area, they talked with Brantley Burton, 32. He claimed someone was after him concerning a work-related incident.
Burton told police when he saw the car driving slowly past his home, he thought it was someone planning to assault him - so he fired his gun at the car.
When deputies searched the area, they found a .223 caliber spent shell casing in Burton’s yard. Burton was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The victim was taken to Regional One in stable condition.
