MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis man is in police custody after a deadly shooting at a Frayser birthday party.
Cordareo Vaughn, 32, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Alvin Cross, according to Memphis Police.
Witnesses told police that Vaughn and a group of men showed up to a party at the Breezy Point Apartments and started an argument with Cross after he was asked to leave.
Witnesses told police the suspect became very hostile and began throwing liquor bottles at the women leading to a physical fight.
The men then went into the kitchen and shot Cross multiple times, according to court documents.
Vaughn admitted to being at the party but told police he was “too high and intoxicated to remember what happened.”
